Weekends. I wake up 4am in the morning, have some carbo loaded breakfast, prepare my stuff, and do some initial warmup to stretch those muscles out – this is my standard routine whenever I’m going to ride my bike (or bikes :P). I’ve been doing cycling since I’m in high school which basically makes me a cyclist for more than 10 yrs now. Like what I’ve mentioned on my previous cycling posts, this is my very first hobby before even collecting toys/figures and after all these years, I still don’t get tired of doing it. Well, you shouldn’t get “tired” if what you’re doing is good for your body. Cycling has a LOT of benefits. Since most of my work is sitting down in front of my computer, having some kind of exercise that I enjoy really helps a lot in having a healthy lifestyle.

I usually ride a minimum of 40km and a maximum of 70km during the weekends. When it comes to the speed, I usually do 35-40kmh. For us “weekend warriors”, this speed is considered “fast” and maintaining this speed will surely burn a lot of calories in your body. Once we are near the 40km or 70km mark, we do a one final sprint of 45kmh up before actually cooling down. It feels great specially if your the one who’s the fastest – unfortunately for me, I’m always the slowest ^^; FYI that Professional cyclists like the ones in Tour de France usually rides a distance of more than 200km and a maintaining speed of 50kmh – crazy. The bike I’m using here is classified as a road bike. I call it my “black stallion” and you can take a closer look of how it looks like by checking the component shots here. It’s my 8th bike in my entire bike collection. There’s a 9th one but I haven’t taken any pictures of it yet :P
